Until quite recently was by herpetologists Price and Russo defined a new subspecies Boa constrictor longicauda in province Tumbes in Peru, in headquarters of nominate subspecies Boa constrictor constrictor. These animals are significant by high contrast nearly black and white pattern. Head cross is very massive, practically the most massive from all Boa constrictor subspecies.

Neonates and subadults look like very common, for example as neonates of Costa Rica imperators. But they absolve very strong change of coloration with culmination on approx. three years of age (similar to Boa constrictor constrictor from Peru). It is hard to believe, that the exemplar with pale non-contrast pattern can adult into a big beautiful snake. By breeders is that very sought out form of Boa constrictor. This fact is reflecting the price, too…
